The Christmas Season is Upon Us...

The holiday season is upon us and I couldn’t be happier! This means many things:
1. The semester is almost over. I couldn’t be more relieved! It has been my most stressful semester. I was so busy that my roommates complained that they never saw me. School was at the end of my priority list, which is never a good sign. Luckily with the little work I do toward school I will be ok with my grades. Working two jobs you would think that I would be solid on money but it is so the opposite. That’s one stressor that I’m afraid will stay going into next semester. One thing that has been great and awful at the same time was being senior leader for the Catalina Foothills young life team. I loved the team, we really got to know each other and learn how to work well with each other. I will miss them next semester. I will not miss being senior leader and having to take care of a lot of the work. I’m looking forward to going back to wyld life, less time and I like the junior high kids.
2. Time to be with family and friends! I love it when the whole family can get together. We are a wild and crazy group and it’s awesome! It’s great to come back and see all my friends again. We’ve all been away at school but when we get together it’s like nothing changed.
3. Presents! To give and to get. I love shopping for other people and seeing what I can get them that will really bring them joy.
4. Winter clothes. It’s nice to have a change of wardrobe: scarves, boots, jackets, etc…
5. Winter, where we can bundle up with a warm drink in our hands and watch a Christmas movie

Weddings

I love weddings! I always have and always will. Since I’ve been in college I have been invited to 12 weddings. I have had the opportunity to be a bridesmaid 3 times in the past (2 of which were my sisters) and in April I am going to be the maid of honor for my sister for the first time! It is her second marriage so there isn’t as much pressure being maid of honor since she doesn’t want a bridal shower or bachelorette party, so I don’t know what my duties are exactly. And following in June I get to be in another wedding with a close friend from college. I am just so excited for them both! I know it gets super expensive being in weddings, buying dresses and planning parties, but it’s just so worth it. It’s something I don’t care I have to spend money on. Not only are those two wonderful weddings happening next semester, I have also know 4 other couples that are planning on getting married in the summertime. It’s wedding season! It’s crazy to think of all the college couple getting married. I have to sometimes bring myself to reality that most couples in this world do not get married so young. The women in my family all got married in their mid 20’s so that just takes the pressure off and reminds me that there is no rush or pressure to get married anytime soon. But that doesn’t stop me from thinking about what my wedding is going to be like!

I'm leavin!

So in two days I am leaving for Santa Barbara, California and I could not be more excited! This last summer during the month of July I did summer staff at a young life camp. What summer staff is, is group of college-aged volunteers who come to work at the camp for a month while young life campers come each week. It is all voluntary, people from all over the country can come to different camps, and it is such a wonderful experience. We work hard, and a lot, but it is so worth it. I made a lot of wonderful friendships in that month that I believe that they will be long lasting. We are doing a mini reunion this weekend in Santa Barbara since many people from summer staff live there, while the rest of us travel from San Diego, San Francisco, and Arizona. I love these people so much and I am so excited to be reunited with them. Plus who doesn’t love California? I can’t wait to leave and take a break from the business of my life right now, no homework, and no work! I guess it’s my fall break since University of Arizona does not provide one. I wish I was there now, and I know that the weekend is going to go by so quickly, but we will make the best of the time we have together. I can’t believe it’s already been three months since we’ve seen each other. It’s going to be the best weekend ever!
